We are publishing this to warn other businesses based on our direct experience.
We hired Brad Baird of Blaz Digital, based in Edmonton, for PR services that were initially supposed to be completed through a third party platform. Early on, Brad was adamant about moving the transaction off that platform and handling payment directly. In hindsight, this should have been our first and clearest red flag.
At the time, we did some basic due diligence. Brad appeared legitimate. He had an active LinkedIn profile and presented himself as a professional based in Edmonton. Against our better judgment, we proceeded.
Once payment was sent, the situation deteriorated quickly.
Brad repeatedly pushed for funds to “get started.” After receiving payment, communication became sporadic, then unreliable, then largely nonexistent. When asked for updates or proof of work, he provided excuses, shifting timelines, and explanations that never resulted in actual deliverables.
The PR placements and services we paid for were never delivered.
When pressed, Brad made multiple statements that did not align with reality and could not produce the work he claimed was completed. We formally requested a refund. To date, we have not received a full refund of the amount paid.
This post reflects our experience only, but based on that experience, we feel it is necessary to warn others.
